CISV Leeds was founded in the 1960s.

We host international programmes for children and young people aged 11+ as well as leadership opportunities for adults. These programmes encourage openness and respect towards all people, promote tolerance and understanding of different cultures and attitudes, initiate friendship despite of nationality or beliefs and educate to non-violent conflict solutions. CISV is not affiliated with any religious group.

Our branch is a part of a global organisation dedicated to educating and inspiring for peace through building inter-cultural friendship, cooperation and understanding. Founded in 1950, today we are a federation of 70 Member Associations with over 200 Chapters or local groups. In over 60 years we have given countless young people the experience of their lives and the opportunity to build lasting friendships through our international educational programmes.

For more information on CISV history,  please visit CISV International's website and on CISV Great Britain.

CISV continues to grow, guided by its founding belief that a more just and peaceful world is possible through intercultural exchange, education and friendship – starting with children.
